The Left Bank is the regional art gallery for the West Coast, housed in what was previously…wait for it… a bank! The gallery shows exhibitions every month and has two spaces, one larger than the other.
This month the large space is hosting the Member’s Show, an event dedicated to the artworks of the members of the gallery. This one features paintings, photographs, textiles and prints, and the range of techniques is quite impressive to see.
In the smaller gallery Yvonne Hammond is showing her flax plaited and woven works. Small kete (baskets) and spiral forms hang on the walls in this show, and a shower of meteor stars cascade down.
