This week’s activities

This week is going to be busy in Greymouth Māwhera!

On Monday there is a workshop with Aquabella, the Berlin ensemble of women who perform world music acapella. This is followed by a concert on Tuesday evening by the group.

On Tuesday there is also a concert of Baroque arias in St Patrick’s Church with Pepe Baker.

On Tuesday at 5:30 there is the first rehearsa after Christmas breakl of the Community Waiata Group at the whare at Greymouth High School. It is open to anyone to come along.

On Thursday there will be the first meeting of the new Youth Choir in town at Art Soup, the youth-led space, at 3:45 until 5.

On Thursday evening is the final meeting of the Left Bank Gallery Choir for this block of sessions, at 6:30 until 8 in the Gallery. The choir will restart for the next block of six sessions shortly.

On Friday the first Conversation and Cloth event of the year will take place in the Regent Theatre at 10am. This one will look at new additions to our collection and is free to attend (although koha towards tea and coffee are appreciated).

On Saturday there is a “Design from Nature” afternoon for anyone interested in textiles and crafts at the Left Bank Gallery. This will be a short walk with cameras followed by a session of design from those images.
