This week the Left Bank Gallery choir met, as usual, on Thursday evening at 6:30pm.
The choir was originally set-up for six sessions and those six have now been. This week’s was the best rehearsal yet with work on some existing repertoire and a new song on the way, so the sessions are going to continue. We are planning to have a core set of music that we can perform anywhere at any time.
New choir members, anyone over the age of 18, are always welcome. There is no charge for attending but a koha (donation) of $2 is welcome to cover costs of photocopying and sundries like folders for music, etc. The Left Bank Gallery donates the space for the rehearsals, and I donate my time. Please ask if you have questions about joining, repertoire, performance or anything else.
There is also a Youth Choir that meets on Thursday afternoons in town at Art Soup at 3:45 until five. This is for anyone between the ages of 12 and 18.
Over time we will grow the group so that we have high, medium and low voices. At the moment we are working with arrangements for high and medium voice.
As with anything in life, practice helps improve singing. I am looking forward to lots more fun rehearsals and to working with everyone to create a group that our community can be proud of.
