The winners of the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards have just been announced.

The Photographer of the Year is Juliette Pavy with Spiralkampagnen, a documentary series about the forced sterilisation of Inuit women in Greenland. Several thousand girls and women were fitted with IUDs without their consent in the 1960s and ’70s by Danish doctors, resulting in significant trauma and distress.
The winners images and shortlisted photographs are on show at Somerset House in London, UK until May 6th.
