A new use for newspaper

Newspaper has a new lease of life in the work of South African Tamlin Blake.

Tamlin Blake’s art is concerned with the ways in which materials can be used and reused. In her most recent work, newspaper is hand-spun into yarn that is then used to create tapestries. Presenting this material alongside mosaics and embroideries created by the artist and collaborators allows new stories to be told. They offer a perspective on the way in which we all influence each other and how our stories affect the world around us.

Have a look at the artist’s website here. The tapestries are on this link.

Hi Margaret. I am sorry you could not see the newsletter. Thanks for letting me know.
I am not sure why that has happened. I get the emails sent through to my address and last week’s arrived as usual. Did you manage to see the text at all?
      Andy
