The new studio is being prepared to begin opening up in mid-January.
With newly-painted floors and rugs down, the space is looking bright and cheery. There is an exhibition of two garments at the moment in the window – a Japanese haori and a black boxy jacket, both of which are attracting passersby. There is a workshop area, space now for the looms coming across from the UK, and a desk to work at. With plenty of light this is going to be a great meeting point for artists and craftspeople to get together.
The equipment will arrive next year in March and the official opening will be towards the autumn. Before that the studio will be open for visitors to wander through and see what is happening. More details will be posted in the New Year.
