Happy New Year

Welcome blog friends, old and new. I hope you have had a good festive season, wherever you are and whatever you did.

This year we are going to be opening the new textile studio in Greymouth Māwhera, and starting our workshops. The weaving equipment from the UK will be arriving in Aotearoa New Zealand in February and should be here at the start of March. Then there will be a lot of work to do, assembling looms and putting everything in its place. The textile collection cataloguing will continue too as will music and art. The textile symposium for Costumes and Textiles Aotearoa New Zealand (CTANZ) is taking place in May in Dunedin, and we have a long weekend booked on a high-country sheep station to tour the farm and see how the large operations work in this country. It is going to be busy.

Let me know if you are heading over to the West Coast. I would be delighted to show you around the studios in town.

Here is to a successful and happy 2025, filled with art and music and all the things that help our world go round.
