British composer, John Barry, was known for his prolific output for film music. This track comes from Out of Africa, the cinematic rendition of Karen Blixen‘s famous memoir about her life in East Africa in the first decades of the Twentieth Century.

A Swingin’ Safari was an LP produced in 1962 by Bert Kaemfert and his Orchestra. That Happy Feeling is the second item on that recording and is an instrumental version of a piece created by Ghanaian musician, Guy Warren. The cover of the album featured a model in a safari jacket and shorts.

This is a mellow version of a song by RuPaul that was about the new phenomenon of the “Supermodel” in the 1990s. The song featured the names of these top-paid models, including the likes of Cindy Crawford and Christie Turlington, and sampled extracts from Madonna’s music in an homage to the pop-queen’s iconic standing with the LGBTI+ community.

The word “safari” means “journey” in Swahili and is derived from the Arabic word “safar” with the same meaning. This song is a children’s song and you can hear a faster and older version here. One Voice Choir is an award-winning group that sings gospel and traditional Ghanaian music.

Safari Monkey Calls by Sounds of the Jungle

This audio is of the sounds of the African bush with birds, insects and monkeys in the bush. The constant call is a turtle dove (ring-necked dove), vervet monkeys chatter in the background, and guinea fowl cluck.
