The studio window display has been changed for winter.
This season woollen blankets feature with pride of place being given to a 1974 Commonwealth Games blanket in red, white and blue. Alongside that are three other blankets, all from the United States. They are from the middle of the last century and feature skiers and skaters on one, dancers and musical instruments on another, and Native American tipi, horses and riders with feather headdresses on the third.
The New Zealand piece has a clear label marking it as a Manatunga blanket from Mosgiel Mills in Dunedin. The other three have no readable labels, sadly, but similar pieces have turned up in internet searches. Any information about these would be very gratefully received.
