The textile collection continues to grow and so does the cataloguing.

The most recent addition to the catalogue, thanks to our Canadian friend, Karen, who volunteers time to do this research and to write up the texts for the website, are the Basotho blankets.

These particular examples are common across South Africa. Locally produced, they are made from recycled plastic bottles and so a a cheaper alternative to wool but still with the iconic designs and colours of the latter.

Cataloguing any collection is a demanding task, even more so when it is an eclectic set! To see what has been done so far use this link or the Textile Collection link above.
