On Friday this week there was the latest in the series of Conversation and Cloth, the talks about textiles in the collection.
Taking place in the Regent Theatre, the talk was well-attended with twenty people coming along, and a couple more on Zoom, to listen to news about the most recent acquisitions and about plans for the studio. After the event the group went to the adjoining rooms from where the studio operates and talked about the looms, the books and the things on display.
It was an excellent pre-opening event to gather people together and there was lots of interest in what is going to be available in Greymouth. People have started to read the books and to comment on what could be possible in the space. Already ideas about workshops have been discussed and the future looks like it might be busy!
Thank you to everyone who came along. Although it is not the best video in the world (I am just learning about broadcasting such things on Zoom and have already seen a few things I could do differently), you can watch the presentation on the film below. Please comment if there are things that you can see could be better when presenting like this.
