The latest issue of Context, the Costume and Textiles Aotearoa New Zealand publication, is out now.

CTANZ is the membership group for those interested in textiles and as part of its offering to members Context is shipped out twice a year. This edition looks as fascinating and varied as usual. There are articles on Vanuatu heritage at Tūhura Otago Museum, up cycling textiles sustainably, embroidered surfaces, Jane Austen, Chinese objects, new work… the list continues.

Another of CTANZ’s activities is the annual symposium. This year it is going to be in Whanganui, and papers to be presented are being considered at the moment. More news about symposium will be forthcoming.

If you fancy joining a group of like-minded people who love textiles why not consider joining CTANZ. The membership year has just opened and you can find out more here. Membership benefits include discounted rates for symposium, Context, and a network of experts, practitioners and others who work or are involved in the field.
