Nau mai, haere Mai (a New Zealand welcome)

This week sees the official launch of the new website.

Our readers might have noticed a few changes going on over the past few months, and there are more to come.

The blog (and website) has been going since 2007. In that year I remember becoming frustrated with the way blogs were disappearing from the internet, being replaced by Instagram and Twitter. I love reading and discovering new things and felt sure that others would feel the same frustration and so the blog was born. It originally had the logo at the top of this article on it but nowadays things have progressed and each article can have its own image. Progress!

Over the years the IT has been run from Shetland so the first thing to do was to bring it over here. It was sad to lose the excellent support we had all enjoyed over the past decade and some but it would be easier to deal with things from the same time zone and to have everything running from here. Now the blog is hosted from

this side of the world and I can work on it myself. As I am not an expert there may be glitches but over time it will hopefully become bigger and better.

One of the new parts to the blog is the start of a catalogue of items in the collection. Plans are afoot to photograph and add each item, sorting and refining the collection as the process goes. More on that when we start.

You will see that there is a blog subscription part to each page now. This will allow new subscribers to add their details to receive the blog, and allow for easier unsubscribing too. If you know anyone who might to like receive the weekly newsletter please do pass it on.

If you would like to see something new on the website or have any suggestions as to how to improve or add to Sunday’s blog enjoyment, please get in touch. I would be delighted to have your input.

Oh, and one last thing. If you are wondering what the title of this blog means or sounds like, click on these two links – nau mai, haere mai – and press the grey loudspeaker button.
