Today, Saturday, is the second workshop of the winter series.

This class is about colour and I have made booklets with exercises to complete for the five participants. They include looking at colour wheels and choosing the colours for a project using complementary, analogous and monochromatic palettes, making yarn wraps using a reference image, finding inspiration in a variety of sources, painting, drawing and stamping, and playing with different materials to find textures that go with colour.

It is has been exciting to create this class. It is something different and more creative than the other sessions I have run before. These focus on weaving and they follow a format so that everyone can learn how to weave. Today’s activities will allow much more experimentation and exploration. That is Always Fun!

I plan to do more of these kinds of workshops. The remainder of the winter series is planned already and the next workshops are about making warps and learning how to put threads on a loom. Maybe there will be a small space for an additional creative class between the others…
